Former Police Commissioner and former senior military officer, Ioane Naivalurua, former Army Commander and former Director of Immigration, Viliame Naupoto and Former FijiFirst and former SODELPA MP, Mosese Bulitavu

Former Police Commissioner and former senior military officer, Ioane Naivalurua is expected to be sworn in as the Minister for Policing and former Army Commander and former Director of Immigration, Viliame Naupoto is expected to be appointed the Minister for Immigration later this morning.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka confirms that Opposition Group of 9 MPs will be sworn in today.

He says some will be sworn as Ministers and others as Assistant Ministers.

Former FijiFirst and former SODELPA MP, Mosese Bulitavu will be appointed as the Minister for Climate Change.

Aliki Bia will be appointed Assistant Minister for Information, Penioni Ravunawa will be the Assistant Minister for Health, Naisa Tuinaceva as the Assistant Minister for Transport and Josaia Niudamu as the Assistant Minister for Justice.

Questions are being asked on issues arising regarding Siromi Turaga's decision making after he 'suspended' the Corrections Commissioner although he did not have the constitutional responsibility to do so.

We have asked Rabuka if he is concerned about this and whether a reassignment of portfolios for Turaga will fix the issue or just be moving the problem. He is yet to respond.
