Naitasiri Warriors have gone one step further than last year after defeating Ba Pro Dragons 20-18 to the Vodafone Under 19 Fiji Secondary School Rugby League champions at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

Naitasiri Warriors head coach, Rusiate Talebulamai told fijivillage News that last year they reached the final but lost to Ratu Kadavulevu High School.

Talebulamai says one of the challenges they faced is the lack of facilities for training but they utilised the resources available to them to get things done.

He adds discipline is a pushing factor for the team as well.

Meanwhile, team captain, Ratu Iliesa Gaunavinaka says their loss at the final last year was their motivation this year with the target to win the title.

Gaunavinaka also acknowledged the support from the parents, teachers and the old scholars saying every day they sacrificed their time for training and today the win is a reward for them.

The Dragons led 8-0 at half-time.

On hand to present the trophy was the Momo Na Tui Nawaka, Ratu Joeli Bulu Derenalagi Naevo.
