It was a double celebration for Nadroga power house thrower Nabili Vatunisolo as she won gold and qualified for the Para Paris Olympics in the women's Shot Put Ambulatory Para Category with a total score of 77.75 at the HFC Bank Stadium.

The former Fijian flag bearer who won a bronze medal and Team Fiji’s fourth medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in England is ready for the Olympics.

Fellow teammate Selina Seau won bronze in the same event and has also qualified.

The Fijian duo could not contain their emotions and they were sharing tears of joy.

Vatunisolo told fijivillage News that hard work has paid off for her and she cannot wait to represent Fiji.

She says there is still room for improvement and with the remaining weeks she will tighten her preparation.

Regina Edward of Papua New Guinea won silver with a score of 67.12 while Seau of Fiji won bronze with a score of 66.19.
