Fire destroys Westfield Garden Solutions which was opened during 2nd wave of the pandemic.

A Nadi family who started a small business through a loan during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has been shattered after a fire destroyed their shop, Westfield Garden Solutions in Namaka early this morning.

Manager, Rohit Lal who used to work in a hotel says they started the business last year after after he got laid off.

Westfield Garden Solutions which was situated next to Best Buys specialised in selling seeds, fertilizers and other agricultural products.

Lal says they had taken a loan of $10,000 from the FDB and have no idea how they will manage as the shop was not insured. He says they had also used their savings to start this family business.

Lal says they have four staff and their families will also be impacted.
