Nadi based Al-Hamd Smart Living is doing their bid to encourage more people to get the AstraZeneca vaccine by providing 10 solar street lights to the first village in Nadi which achieves a 90% vaccination rate.

Director Ashfaaq Khan says they have come up with the initiative because many people in Nadi are still hesitant to get the vaccine.

He says they are hoping to convince around 90% of people in Nadi to get the jab through this initiative.

Khan says they will be supplying and installing the street lights which will cost them close to $,5000.

He adds by providing street lights, they are hoping to reduce the crime rate as well.

Khan says they have around 35 staff and all of them have received at least the first jab.

The Ministry of Health will determine as to which village achieves 90% vaccination first.
