Nadi Hospital has marked a major milestone in healthcare with the opening of its new Tuberculosis and Dermatology Centre and the launch of a comprehensive Maternal and Child Health Policy.
World Health Organization Regional Director, Dr. Saia Piukala returning to his roots, highlighted that the new centre represents not just buildings, but a renewed commitment to accessible, efficient and dignified health care.
He acknowledged the collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, the Nadi Hospital Board of Visitors, and partner organizations as the “golden thread” strengthening Fiji’s health system. Dr. Piukala noted that the centre consolidates previously scattered services in the Western Division, making care more seamless and timely for patients.
Minister for Health, Dr. Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu says this milestone marks a significant boost for health services in the region, bringing quality care closer to those who need it most.
