The 2025 Nadi Bula Festival represents more than just a celebration — it is a time to renew our commitment to hope, unity, and the strength that define Nadi and Fiji as a whole.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation, Viliame Gavoka mentioned this during the official opening of the 2025 Nadi Bula Festival at King Charles Park in Nadi.
He says the theme of this year’s Festival, “Rebuilding Lives through Compassion and Charity,” reflects the spirit of unity and community support.
He adds that when we talk about rebuilding, we often think of roads or buildings, but real rebuilding begins in the heart, with acts of kindness and support for one another.
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted the 2025/2026 National Budget, which includes growing investments in hotels and tourism infrastructure, and focuses on essential projects such as new bridges to ease traffic between Nadi and Lautoka, as well as fast-tracking the Nadi Flood Alleviation Project.
He says water infrastructure upgrades will benefit over 80,000 people in areas including Dreketi Feeder Road, Vuda, Wairabetia, Nadi Airport, Sabeto Road, and extending to Korovuto.
The Minister for Tourism says Nadi town continues to play a very important role in driving Fiji’s tourism industry.
He says to support sustainable growth, the Coalition Government will enhance coordination with the Nadi Town Council and Nadi Chamber of Commerce.
He adds that with an $8 million budget in the new financial year, they aim to make Nadi a model town—resilient, forward-looking, and thriving in a peaceful Pacific.
Gavoka says that he knows tourism is key to our future — it builds livelihoods, protects our heritage, and opens doors for every Fijian.
He emphasised that we must ensure tourism is inclusive and benefits not just the industry, but also the people who shape it.
The Deputy Prime Minister also praised the young women vying for the Bula Crown, formerly known as Adi Bula, for their courage, commitment, and leadership.
He says they are more than contestants; they are leaders, encouraging them to carry the pride of their communities as they embark on their journey
He urged the people of Nadi to keep the spirit of the Festival alive year-round.
