New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will be visiting the Lautoka Jame Masjid to pay respects to the three Fijian nationals that were killed in the terror attacks of March 15th in Christchurch.
58-year-old Asraf Ali who lived in Omkar, Narere, Imam Hafiz Musa Patel of Lautoka Jame Masjid and Ashraf Ali who moved to New Zealand years ago were killed in the terror attacks.
Ardern is also expected to unveil a memorial plaque.
She will also pay a courtesy call on President, Jioji Konrote and meet with Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama tomorrow.
Key topics of discussion between Fiji and New Zealand’s bilateral meeting are climate change in the Pacific, improving the balance of trade and development co-operation.
During her visit, Prime Minister Ardern will deliver a speech at the University of the South Pacific and visit the RISE Informal settlement project in Tamavua-i-wai.
Another key feature of Prime Minister Ardern’s visit is her meeting with the Women MPs, Women in Business, Civil Society and Youth leaders.
The NZ Prime Minister is expected to be part of the official opening programme of the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre in the western division.
Ardern will arrive in Fiji at around 7.30 tonight.
