The National Federation Party has revealed that it will review the current company tax rate and income tax threshold after the 2015 National Budget if the NFP forms the next government.

While speaking on Straight Talk on Viti FM and Radio Sargam last night, NFP Leader Doctor Biman Prasad said that their main focus is to reduce the prices of basic food items.

He said they will reduce VAT from 15 to 10 percent, and also reduce duties on certain items.

Doctor Prasad said they will also focus on increasing duty on luxury items and look at other tax measures.

The NFP Leader also said that the party will cut government expenditure by about $100 million.

Doctor Prasad said they will look at areas like reducing the number of government vehicles and closing some high commissions and embassies.
