Kolinisau eyes Coral Coast 7s standouts for national squad selection

Fiji Airways National Men’s 7s head coach Osea Kolinisau says several standout performers in the McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji 7s could be in line for national squad consideration.

Speaking to fijivillage Sports, Kolinisau highlighted the Yaro Chiefs’ prop and wing, the Police Blue prop, and praised Jack Volavola for his calm control and leadership in the backline.

He also acknowledged former Fiji 7s rep Bill Nakausa, who featured for Ravuka Sharks, saying the veteran brought valuable experience to the side.

Kolinisau says it’s exciting to see such depth in local talent and adds he would not be surprised if some of these players are brought into camp for the upcoming international legs.

He also commended both Yaro Chiefs and Ravuka Sharks,village-based teams for reaching the final, saying it is a sign of how strong and competitive the Coral Coast 7s has become.

The men’s final kicks off at 5.35pm today at Lawaqa Park.
