Vodafone Fiji Fashion Week Rising Star of 2023, Atelaite Daunibau who is known for her brand Sugarose says her journey in the fashion industry has been fruitful and amazing.

Daunibau says she started her journey in 2010, and with 13 years of experience in the industry she has seen Fiji Fashion evolving by encouraging designers to do their best.

In an interview with fijivillage News, Daunibau says some of the challenges she has faced are fashion education, upskilling in production and finding the right resources for her project.

She says she is grateful for the opportunities and recognises that the Fiji Fashion industry has a lot more potential to grow and because of some drawbacks, it has not been explored to its full capacity. She acknowledged her brothers, family and friends for living the journey as she did and never judging her decisions.

She encourages those who are passionate about fashion to follow their dreams as hard work will pay off.

Daunibau was rewarded for her efforts as she won the Vodafone Fiji Fashion Week, National Fashion Award for Innovative Textile and Print Award and Progressive Development in a Fashion Business Award.
