Mt Masada is the new champion of the McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s Women’s competition after ending the NZ Development side’s unbeaten run in the competition with a 24-7 win in the Final this afternoon.

Mt Masada is the shadow team of the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side that is preparing for the upcoming HSBC Perth 7s next week.

Both teams were locked at 7-all at the break but strong words from the coach at halftime boosted Mt Masada side’s morale as they scored three more tries and 1 conversion with Vika Nakacia scoring a double.

Meanwhile, in the Youth Cup Final, Southland Broncos have been crowned the new champion after dethroning defending champion Dominion Brothers 19-0 this afternoon.

The Broncos held a slight 7-0 lead at halftime.

Dominion Brothers were riddled with mistakes and it proved too costly for them while the Broncos utilised every chance they got to score two more tries and a conversion in the second half.

The Men’s Cup Final between Fiji Men’s 7s and McDonald’s Mike Friday Select 7s is currently underway.
