Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Rosy Akbar says mothers are the core strength of families.

In her Mother’s Day message, the Minister says today is a day when we celebrate the sacrifice and the effort of those who gave us life, and across the country, she understands that thousands of people will be preparing to celebrate this special day.

Akbar says this day should be filled with events to honour the contribution of mothers, acknowledge the efforts of maternal bonds and the role mothers play in the society, understand and recognize their struggles and celebrate their achievements.

She says every mother sacrifices for her child and we celebrate Mother’s Day as a gesture of our gratitude to them.

She is encouraging children and men not to only show love to mothers on this day because love is not restricted to a day or a singular deed.
