Mother of five, Miriam Vasu had to balance life between studying and attending to her children's needs to graduate today with a Diploma in Primary School Education and a certificate in religion education from Corpus Christi Teachers College.

Vasu who is from Vugalei Tailevu is a former student of Saint Joseph Secondary School and Saint John Cawaci, says teaching has always been her passion since her mother is also a retired school teacher while her older sister is also a teacher.

She says she is grateful to have a supportive family and husband who has been pushing her not to give up on her dreams.

Vasu says she had to attend to her children's school work first on a daily basis and later at night, when they were asleep, she would stay up late at night and complete her assignments.

She is urging women not to give up on their dreams, even if they are confronted by obstacles that seem impossible to deal with.

Seventy-eight students graduated from Corpus Christi, 38 graduated with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, and 40 with a Diploma in Primary School Education.
