A mother of four who is suffering from a rare kidney disease is in need of urgent assistance as her family is struggling to pay for her medical costs.

Hanfakaga Motofaga’s recent diagnosis revealed that her kidneys are functioning at 6% due to the disease.

She lost her husband through leukemia in 2018 and has been looking after her children despite suffering from an infection.

Motofaga’s brother Waisale Fatnifau says she has now been discharged from hospital as there has been a slight improvement in her condition but they still have a lot to do.

Fatnifau says her condition is so rare that even the doctors in Fiji do not know what is causing the infection.

Her treatment is now scheduled for 2 to 3 times a week for the next 5 to 7 months and each session will cost $250.

To help Motofaga, Fatnifau and other family members have started an appeal to help her fight this battle and are urging everyone to come forward and donate.

Fatnifau says people have started donating but it is not enough.

You can donate funds to this worthy cause through Waisale Fatnifau’s BSP bank account number 80502993. You can also call Fatnifau on 8656847.
