More than 20,000 people attended the Fiji National University Open Days across their four campuses, marking it the largest attendance at the event to date.

The four campuses were Naduna, Namaka, Natabua and Nasinu.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the Open Day, including not just school students, but families as well.

Professor Nabobo-Baba says parents had the opportunity to speak with lecturers and students about the courses their children plan to pursue.

She says Nasinu campus recorded more than 10,000 attendees on the first day and they also had eight special schools that attended the Open Day including two kindergartens.

The Vice-Chancellor says the event offered students a unique opportunity to gain firsthand insights into campus life, ask questions, get clarifications and learn about the academic programmes available.”

In a statement, FNU says one parent, Jone Ravuikadavu brought his three daughters, Pearl, Emele and Josivini to the second day of the Open Day.

Ravuikadavu adds that even though his children are still in primary school, the Open Day provided them with valuable exposure to hands-on courses at a young age.
