More vendors are expected to benefit from the two new standardized roadside stalls that will be constructed this year with funding by the Indian government.

Minister for Commerce and Trade Faiyaz Koya says they are currently working on identifying suitable locations to construct the 2 roadside stalls.

He says they aim to have these stalls handed over to potential vendors and farmers in the identified locations.

Koya adds to date, the Ministry has constructed and officially handed over 91 standardized roadside stalls to vendors along the highways in Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.

Acting Indian High Commissioner to Fiji Sukanta Sahoo says after COVID-19 it was necessary to help farmers.

Sahoo says it was very close to his heart to support farmers in one way or another.
