More reservoirs and water pumping stations are expected to be built to alleviate the water issues experienced in the Suva Nausori system.

Minister for Public Works Ro Filipe Tuisawau says last week's incident caused a lot of challenges to the people and he can confirm that the situation has recovered over the last 24 hours.

He also visited some areas that were affected this morning.

WAF Chief Operating Officer Seru Soderderg says one of the reason there was water supply issue last week is that the Waimanu River levels was low and it could not supply the needed amount of water.

He adds that the situation worsened when they had to replace the transformers at the Waila Water Treatment Plant because their Tamavua Reservoir had dropped below standard level.

WAF CEO, Dr Amit Chanan says around 20 water carting trucks service the Suva Nausori areas and last week, over 50 truck were supplying water to the residents residing in the Suva Nausori areas.
