Water supply gradually restored after Suvavou Bridge water main repaired

Water supply is gradually returning to communities from Vugalei Bridge through to the Naval Base at Togalevu after the Water Authority of Fiji successfully repaired the burst water main at Suvavou Bridge early this morning.

WAF says repair works were completed overnight, with the restoration of water supply beginning at 5am.

However, WAF says it will take some time for the pipeline network to fully refill and for water pressure to return to normal across the affected areas.

They say people living in elevated or higher-ground locations may experience longer delays before their water supply is fully restored, as adequate pressure needs to build up throughout the network.

WAF acknowledges people for their patience and understanding during the disruption, as well as drivers for cooperating with traffic management while repair works were underway.

They add that their repair team has safely completed the work and left the site, and it will continue to monitor the network and provide further updates if needed.
