Additional people have been sent to the Northern Division to help with water restoration.

Minister for Disaster Management, Inia Seruiratu says they have sent 11 water carting trucks and each truck can hold 10,000 litres of water.

The Fiji Red Cross Society says they are also planning to buy more water tanks and provide other water sources for affected families through the support and partnership of donors.

Director-General Ilisapeci Rokotunidau says they have delivered about 1,500 litres of water to Kia Island and 2,500 litres of water to Yadua, Yaqaga and Galoa Island.

She says one of the major problems highlighted by affected communities is the access to clean drinking water.
