More Fijians to depart for employment opportunities in Australia

232 Fijians will get employment opportunities as four Australian approved employers will recruit them to work under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility Scheme.

156 of those selected will be working in the meat industry for 4 years while 76 will be joining the seasonal worker program for up to 9 months.

During the farewell, Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Youth and Sports Parveen Kumar Bala reminded the workers of their responsibilities and expected behaviour as Fijian Ambassadors.

He says they have been selected to represent Fiji under the Vuvale Partnership with the Government of Australia.

Bala acknowledged the Australian approved employers support of the towards the Vuvale partnership arrangement, which directly impacts Fijian families, their communities and the Fijian economy through remittances.

These workers will be employed with Costa Group, Regional Workforce Management (RWM), Agri-Labour and Plant-Grow- Pick (PGP).
