More CCTV cameras are expected to be installed in Labasa Town from the funds that have been collected from the Digicel Duavata Northern Crime Prevention Carnival which concluded last night.

The President of the Labasa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Satish Kumar says they also plan to give a new caravan to the Fiji Police Force which will be used at a mobile community post.

Kumar says he is overwhelmed with the huge turnout and the carnival has been a success.

Miss Hidden Paradise Savusavu, Sophia Tagicimoala was crowned the Queen of the carnival while Oliver Dyer has been crowned King.

19-year-old Tagicimoala is a Bachelor of Professional Accounting and Commerce student at the University of the South Pacific.

Meanwhile Fijians have been urged by the Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum to take advantage of the initiatives announced in the National Budget.

While speaking at carnival, Sayed-Khaiyum says they have a number of incentives for those who have children and has urged people to read about what was announced.

The Attorney General has also praised the contestants who took part in the carnival.
