Newly elected SODELPA Youth President, Tevita Momoedonu says he will focus on addressing the social problems that are affecting young people in Fiji today.
Momoedonu was elected president during the SODELPA Youth Annual General Meeting held at the Fijian Teachers Association Hall.
He says some of the social problems he will be focusing on include teenage pregnancies and drug use, which continue to harm young people.
Momoedonu says he will work closely with the newly elected youth executives to reach out to youths across the country.
He says while he may be new to politics, it runs in his blood, as his namesake was a former Minister for Labour in the Chaudhry Government, and also served briefly as Prime Minister, for two hours in 2000 and 48 hours in 2001.
He highlighted that during today’s meeting, new executives were elected, with Andy Tikoitoga chosen as Vice President and Joshua Gaunavinaka among the five new executives
SODELPA Leader Aseri Radrodro says young people are not just the future but the voice of today — the energy that drives democracy and the power that will move the country forward.
He says the AGM reaffirmed SODELPA’s commitment to empowering youth, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making, and guiding the Party’s programs ahead of the 2026 General Election.
Radrodro adds that the Party believes that when young people rise together with courage and conviction, they can truly make a difference in the nation.
Meanwhile, hundreds turned up today to be part of the SODELPA Youth Special Annual General Meeting.
