A moment of silence was observed for Ba football legend and former national representative, Julie Sami, during the first semi final of the FMF Inter-District Championship at 4R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba.
Sami, who passed away earlier this week, was laid to rest today.
He was a key member of the Ba team that won six consecutive IDC tournaments.
Playing through the 1970s and 1980s, Sami was renowned for his exceptional ball distribution, ability to tidy up play, and setting up attacks for the iconic Ba Dream Team.
He was widely regarded as one of the most accomplished link men in Fijian football history.
Sami began his football career at the age of 15 and continued playing until his retirement.
