Mobil Oil (Fiji) unveiled its largest premium unleaded petrol tank at the Suva terminal that will support the company's supply of premium fuel to meet the growing demand.

Mobil Oil (Fiji) Country Manager Adi Tamara says despite the many challenges including Tropical Cyclone Harold and the COVID-19 pandemic, the team was focused on safely and efficiently preparing the tank to support the reliable supply of fuel in Fiji.

Tamara says Mobil has an important role to play in supplying essential energy to Fiji and he is proud that their team has remained focused on working safely through the pandemic, so they can maintain a reliable supply of fuel to customers.

He says they have also put in place strict measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic so that its people and workplace remains safe.

Minister for Tourism and Transport Faiyaz Koya says this premium fuel tank is the result of the continued determination of Mobil Oil despite many challenges including Cyclone Harold and COVID-19.

Koya says the company has continued its plan to ensure a reliable supply of fuel in the country.

He says it is reassuring that Mobile Oil continued its investment in Fiji and earlier this year the company has supported various initiatives to keep Fijians safe during the pandemic.

Mobil Oil invested about $2.5 million in the construction of the premium fuel tank.
