As people welcome the new year, Ministers are calling on parents and guardians to prioritize spending quality time with their children as a proactive measure to fight the use of drugs.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Professor Biman Prasad is calling on parents to prioritize the emotional well-being of their children by giving them the gift of time.

He says in today’s fast-paced world, listening to children, supporting them and being present in their lives is more crucial than ever.

He further says children need more than just material support; they need to feel heard and valued.

His plea is a reminder to slow down, tune into the needs of the younger generation, and foster a nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Minister for Justice Siromi Turaga says every choice people make have consequences; some choice have long term effects on your life, education, protection and other areas of your life.

He says people should think about the decisions they make and always ask a trusted adult regarding issues that affect them.

Turaga reiterates that everything begins from home and the parents are the first teachers for kids.
