The Vunivalu na Tui Namosi, Ratu Suliano Matanitobua has agreed with the Vanua of Nabukebuke on the need for the Government to review the Mining Act so that the landowners can also benefit.

Ratu Suliano says the organisation called the Lomani Au, Maroroi Au has submitted their submission on behalf of the Vanua of Namosi to the Department of Mineral Resources for the need to review the Mining Act.

He says this Act has been overdue for 40 to 50 years.

Tui Namosi says he wants his people to benefit from this Mining Act.

He further says they are the land owners and he is their chief and he fully supports his people.

Ratu Suliano also highlighted that he will be discussing with the mataqali Nabukebuke Namosi a way forward for the reviewing of the Special Prospecting Licence and the benefit towards them.

Tui Namosi says that he has decided during the Namosi Provincial Council meeting that the Vanua will be united with the LAMA Group and work together for the betterment of the Vanua.

He adds he will support whichever Government is in power and lead the Vanua of Namosi.
