Millions of dollars worth of marijuana seized in Kadavu in the last two weeks

Close to 60 million dollars worth of marijuana plants has been seized by Police in the last two weeks on Kadavu with most of the discoveries so far made in the village of Gasele.

This has been made possible through the use of drones.

Two weeks ago, three separate raids were done in the hills of Gasele Village.

In the first raid, Police found 2,900 marijuana plants worth more than $23 million, and the second discovery resulted in the seizure of 8,300 marijuana plants. 1,200 marijuana plants worth 3 million dollars was also discovered the same week.

Another 4,000 plants believed to be marijuana was been seized by Police in the village of Gasele last week.

Police say the plants weighed more than 200 kilograms and it has an estimated value of $12 million.

The owner of the farm is yet to be identified.

Police have also confirmed that no arrests have been made in relation to the drug raid in Kadavu last week where 2,000 marijuana plants with an estimated value of 6.9 million dollars was confiscated.

The marijuana plants which ranges from 7cm to 147 cm were found during a raid at a farm in Nacomoto village.

The owner of the farm is yet to be identified.

Investigations are continuing.
