Messi scores his 8th World Cup goal beating Mexico 2-0

Lionel Messi has scored his 8th FIFA World Cup goal for Argentina defeating Mexico 2-0 this morning.

The 64th Messi goal broke the deadlock.

Enzo Fernández scored in the 87th minute.

Messi has tied his scoring stats with Cristiano Ronaldo.

In other results, Australia beat Tunisia 1-0, Poland defeated Saudi Arabia 2-0, while France beat Denmark 2-1.

France is the first team to book a spot in the Round of 16 knockout stages.
