Minister for Health, Dr. Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu has confirmed today that the medicine shortage currently faced by our hospitals is not a financial problem but a supply chain issue.
Dr. Lalabalavu confirmed this to fijivillage News at the Fiji Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Services, saying it is due to procurement issues.
He says the budget for the Fiji Pharmaceutical Services has been increasing all this time but it is due to procurement.
The Minister says financially, they have been given the money to spend, and it is just that certain factors are beyond their control that they cannot do anything about.
