To mark the Menstrual Hygiene Day, Medical Services Pacific distributed sanitary pads and hygiene wipes to Ballantine Memorial School, Delainavesi, Lami High School and Ratu Sukuna Memorial School.

MSP says these essential supplies were donated to them by Essity Fiji, a leading provider of hygiene and health products.

MSP says the distribution of menstrual hygiene products ensures that young women in these schools can manage their menstrual health with dignity and confidence.

They say this initiative is also part of a broader effort to promote menstrual hygiene and break the stigma surrounding menstruation.

While expressing her gratitude Ballantine Memorial School principal Sisilia Racule says they are thankful to MSP and Essity Fiji for access to sanitary pads and hygiene wipes as this will improve the daily lives of students, allowing them to focus on their education without interruption or embarrassment.

Principal of Lami High School Naisa Cama Toko says the importance of this initiative is invaluable to the students as this will not only provide them with essential hygiene products but also educate them about the importance of menstrual health and help them to create a more supportive and inclusive school environment.

The principal of Ratu Sukuna Memorial School Naicegucegu added that the donation is a major step forward in promoting menstrual hygiene to help students manage their periods with dignity and reduce absenteeism.

Meanwhile, MSP Country Director Ashna Shaleen highlighted that by providing these essential hygiene products, they are not only addressing immediate needs but also fostering a culture of awareness and support around menstrual health.
