Special Police Constable McKay appears in court for alleged possession of over 40kg of marijuana

Special Police Constable, William McKay who was allegedly found in possession of 40.07 kilograms of marijuana at his Raiwaqa home, has been released on $1,000 bail.

6,037 branches of marijuana were found at his home during a raid at Tamasua Street, off Nailuva Road.

The bags of marijuana were found under the constable’s bed.

McKay has been charged with the unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

Magistrate Pulekeria Low has instructed him to report to the Navua Police Station twice a month, on the 1st and 15th of each month, between 8am and 6pm.

Magistrate Low has ordered him to surrender his passport to the court by 9am tomorrow.

McKay is also a single father.

The case has been adjourned to the 11th of next month.
