David Mawa of Fiji Pine Ba Provincial Freebird Institute scooped the best player award after scoring a try to help his team defeat Ba Methodist College 18-10 and win the U16 Vodafone Deans Western Zone Secondary School final held at Lawaqa Park today.
The lock who hails from Cikobia, Macuata had a standout defence and making a few turnovers to help his team to victory.
Ba Pro played a well structured game plan and managed to build their confidence until the dying seconds of the game.
In other results, Ra High School beat Ratu Navula College 13-10 in the U14 final, Sigatoka Methodist College has defeated Natabua High School 35-23.
