Fiji Water Flying Fijians hooker Sam Matavesi got the surprise of his life after getting a promotion from visiting Royal Navy officials at training.
Matavesi says it was an awesome surprise and he was really shocked.
Rear Admiral Steve Moorhouse says Matavesi will be their Local Acting Leading Hand which is an ambassadorial role.
He says this is to recognise the status that they hold him in and really cherish Matavesi’s commitment to the Royal Navy.
The Flying Fijians will be playing England at 2.15am Sunday at Twickenham Stadium in their last warm up match before the RWC in France.
Their first RWC game is against Wales at 7am September 11th.
