Masau siblings ready for World Cross Country Championships

Siblings Adi Ama and Adi Fulori Masau are excited to be leaving our shores shortly as part of the Team Fiji contingent to the World Cross Country Championships in Bathurst, NSW, next week Saturday.

This includes leading athletes from the 2022 Fiji Secondary Schools Championships, in the hopes of reviving middle and long-distance running in Fiji.

fijivillage News caught up with the sisters who were running with the Suva Marathon Club, and asked how training has been to which Adi Ama replied it has been tough, but it is ok.

Adi Fulori says training is much easier with her sister as they are constantly encouraging and pushing each other to do better.

She also says she prefers early morning training as it is harder in the afternoon with the heat over the last couple of weeks.

Adi Fulori further says for those who want to take up the challenge and do middle and long distance running they have to push, because they are only competing with themselves.

This will be the siblings first overseas meet together, and they are hoping to prove their worth with their eye on the Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands in November.
