Good news for hotel workers under Marriott International in Fiji as they are set to receive a 4.5% wage increase following an agreement between the National Union of Hospitality, Catering & Tourism Industries Employees and the hotel group.

General Secretary for National Union of Hospitality, Catering and Tourism Industries Employee, Daniel Urai says the pay rise, effective from the 1st of last month to the 31st of December this year will benefit employees at Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort, Sheraton Denarau Villas, the Westin Denarau, Denarau Golf and Racquet Club, Sheraton Tokoriki Island and Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay.

The agreement was signed between NUHCTIE General Secretary Daniel Urai and Marriott’s Multi-Property Vice President for the Pacific Islands, Neeraj Chadha on the 15th of last month.

NUHCTIE acknowledges Marriott for agreeing to the increase, saying it would help support hotel workers during these challenging times.
