In the boys division, Marist Brothers High School leads with 6 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze.
Defending champion in the boys division, Suva Grammar School is in second place with 5 gold and 3 silver while RKS is third with 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.
Grammar’s Waisale Ledua won the blue ribbon event last night in a very competitive race.
Waisake Rasalala of Sila Central took the silver after the photo finish in the 100 metres Senior boys final.
Rasalala has filed a protest with the officials that he came in first and he has also filed a protest against Beniamino Maravu that an athlete cannot take part in 3 individual track or field events.
We will bring you the decision in relation to the protests however the 100 metres Senior Boys photo finish showed that Ledua’s upper body crossed the line first.
Ratu Tira Narara of Marist Bothers high school won the senior boys 400 metres final.
Narara broke his old record of 47.84 seconds with a new time of 47.77 seconds.
He added that Marist has something to prove without Banuve.
