Marist and Drasa Avenue claim National Schools Age Group Swimming titles

Marist Brothers High School and Drasa Avenue School are the champions of the 2025 National Schools Age Group Swimming Championships held at the National Aquatic Centre in Suva.

Marist won the boys division with 21 gold, 10 silver and 6 bronze, Swami Vivekananda College finished in second place with 14 gold, 12 silver and 9 bronze, and Natabua High School is in third place with 10 gold, 9 silver and 10 bronze.

In the girl's division, Drasa finished in first place with 15 gold, 12 silver and 8 bronze, St Joseph's Secondary School came in second with 14 gold, 10 silver and 7 bronze and Swami Vivekananda College finished in third place with 9 gold, 8 silver and 10 bronze.

Looking at some of the results, Reuben Taylor of Swami Vivekananda College set a new record in the boy's 17 to 19 years-old 50-metre Freestyle with a time of 24.09 seconds, Homeschool swimmer Thaddeus Albert Kwong broke the Boys 16-year-old 100-metre Backstroke with a time of 1 minute 3.24 seconds and also the Boys 16-year-old 50-meter Backstroke with a time of 28.99 seconds, Grace Khelan from the Learning Centre set a new record in the Girls 13 years old 50-metre Butterfly with a time of 30.86 seconds, Kelera Mudunasoko of Natabua High School broke the Girls 17-19 years old 50 metre Breaststroke with a time of 34.60 seconds, and Marist Brothers Don Young set a new record in the Boys 17-19 years old 50 metre Breaststroke with a time of 29.80 seconds.
