As part of the Marist Brothers High School Bazaar under the theme Family spirit, the Marist Old Boys Association carried out outreach activities assisting Marist brothers and sisters.
President of the Marist Old Boys Association,Neumi Vakadewabuka says that the main highlight of the event will be the soli which the various houses and chapters will undertake works of mercy.
He shares that several groups have already carried out outreach activities, such as feeding the poor and those living on the streets, to support the overall objectives of the bazaar.
He further emphasizes that this year’s primary aim is to assist the Marist Champagnat Institute, which provides education for young men and women who are socially challenged in the Central Division.
He adds part of the proceeds will also go towards the Marist Old Boys Welfare Fund, which supports unemployed former students and those who have lost their homes due to fire.
He also highlighted that the Marist bazaar featured sports, food stalls, music, families and friends coming together and networking.
Vakadewabuka add corporate organizations, including the Unit Trust of Fiji, Business Assistance Fiji, BSP Bank, Fijian Holdings Unit Trust, and the Fiji Development Bank, are also present at the event, offering free financial and business advice to the public.
Vakadewabuka encourages Fijians interested in starting a business to visit the Marist grounds, seek advice, and register if they plan to sell products.
He also urged members of the public, regardless of whether they are students, Marist affiliates, or not, to come and enjoy the festivities.
