Marist 7s: Wardens qualify for elimination round after beating Savusavu 29-5

The Wardens women's 7s team is the first to qualify for the cup elimination round after beating Savusavu 29-5 at the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s.

Wardens scored three first-half tries and two in the second half to secure their win.

Former sprinter Vika Bavui outpaced defenders on the wing to get the first try for Wardens and was instrumental in setting up another two tries.

Other tries for Wardens came from Elenoa Tabuarua, Wainikiti Vosadrau, Laisani Navukaro and Agnes Seru.

Wardens had earlier won the first game by default.

The elimination round in the women's category will start at 6:52pm tomorrow.

Winners from the elimination round will progress to the cup semifinals.

In other women's results, Waitui Waidroka beat Saint Teresa 19-0 while Seahawks thumped Marist 45-0.
