Police Divisional Commander East, Josua Vodo

Police Divisional Commander East, Josua Vodo has called on the people of Lomaiviti Province to share information with them regarding people cultivating marijuana in Lomaiviti.

While speaking at the Lomaiviti Council Meeting in the i-Taukei language, Vodo says over the past 3 years, they have seen a decrease in crime against women, children and also crimes conducted by children.

He says the only crime that has increased in the Lomaiviti group is drug, specifically marijuana.

He adds information sharing from the public is a challenge for officers in Lomaiviti as they can only do their job if the information is shared with them and is factual.

The Divisional Commander East also told the people of Lomaiviti that it seems that they are afraid to share information about people cultivating marijuana in Lomaiviti.

He says if they don’t do anything now, the future generations will suffer.
