Miss Labasa Divisonal Hospital Marica Waqaniburotu has been crowned the Miss Vodafone Friendly North.

Miss Labasa Town Council Adi Volitikoro and Miss Northern Civil Service Vika Taduvaruru are the first and second runners up respectively.

Waqaniburotu says she didn't expect to win the Miss Friendly North and Miss Charity titles, especially being surrounded by other young, talented and beautiful women.

In an interview with fijivillage News, Miss Friendly North says she is ready to showcase the beauty of the North to Fiji and come up with solutions for their issues.

When asked how she will solve this, Waqaniburotu says she'll need to have discussions with the Ministry of Local Government so they can have more opportunities for the North.

Waqaniburotu adds the North should have a new port that will attract more tourists.

She has acknowledged her family, friends and sponsors for their continuous support.

Meanwhile, Oliver Simon Dyer was crowned as the Friendly North Festival King.
