Marama strikes gold for Naitasiri Secondary in Junior Girls 1,500m at Triple N Zone

15-year-old Nanise Marama of Naitasiri Secondary School has struck the first gold medal for her school in the junior girls’ 1500 metres event at the Coca-Cola Triple N Zone that is currently underway at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

Marama now turns her focus to the 800 metres and 4x400 metres relay events that she will be running in today and tomorrow respectively.

Manaini Lewasariri of Wainimala High School settled for second place, while Olita Ravai of Sila Central walked away with bronze.

In the junior boys category, Mikaele Bete of Wainimala Secondary took out first place, Vishal Chand of Lomaivuna High School walked away with the silver, while Sanaila Natabe of Wainimala Secondary claimed the bronze.

In the intermediate girls category, Laisani Nakoro of Adi Cakobau School won gold, Naomi Radinibeqa of Naitasiri Secondary won silver, and Siteri Senilolokula of ACS settled for bronze.

In the intermediate boys category, Serevi Tova of Nakasi High School claimed gold, Tevita Ravunailele of Wainimala took silver, and Malakai Vakadranu of Muaniweni College walked away with bronze.

In the senior girls category, Akeneta Lutu of Lomaivuna High School won gold, Rusila Tabuyawa of Naitasiri Secondary won silver, while Seruwaia Rakuvau, also of Naitasiri Secondary, claimed bronze.

In the senior boys category, Veresa Valemei of Nakasi High won gold, Waisiki Qionicolo of Lomaivuna High took silver, while Supiriano Rabunebune of Wainimala earned bronze.
