Man who allegedly murdered his de-facto wife in Nanuku Settlement produced in Suva High Court via Skype

A man who allegedly stabbed his de-facto wife that resulted in her death was produced in the Suva High Court via Skype this morning.

44-year-old Sivaniolo Vunakece is charged with one count of murder.

The defence lawyer has told the court they will be filing for a formal bail application.

The incident happened in their home at Nanuku Settlement, Vatuwaqa earlier this month.

Police say the man allegedly stabbed the woman, causing her serious injuries which resulted in her death.

The matter has been adjourned to the 17th January next year.
