Man told by court to pay fine or face imprisonment

A 25-year-old man charged with one count of careless driving and one count of drink and driving has been told to pay $300 fine or spend 30 days in prison.

It is alleged that Mateasi Raisua on the 27th of September, 2020 was found driving carelessly at Fenton Street in Lami.

When he was pulled over by police, Raisua smelled of alcohol and when he was tested it was over the limit for a person to drive.

Raisua has to pay a fine of $300 before the 19th of April this year and if he defaults, the 25-year-old will spend 30 days in prison.

Raisua's license has also been suspended for the next 3 months..
