Man rescued after allegedly jumping off vessel while on its way to Natovi from Nabouwalu

A man was rescued from the sea after he allegedly jumped off a vessel this afternoon while the police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police say the 22-year-old man from Lami allegedly jumped off the vessel MV Joseph at around 2.15pm today which was on its way from Nabouwalu Jetty to Natovi Jetty.

He was rescued by the crew, conveyed to Nabouwalu Jetty and is admitted at the Nabouwalu Hospital under observation.

In a video shared with fijivillage News, it can be seen that the man is swimming back to the vessel after jumping off.
