A man in his 20s has died following an accident along Valley Road in Sigatoka yesterday.

Director Traffic, Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana says he was one of four passengers travelling in a vehicle driven by a 22-year-old.

SSP Divuana says it is alleged that the driver lost control where the vehicle veered off the road and tumbled several times near Navula yesterday afternoon.

He says the man was thrown out of the car, resulting in serious injuries which led to his death.

The remaining passengers and driver were rushed to the Sigatoka Hospital where they remain admitted as investigations continue.

The national road death toll currently stands at 55 compared to 74 for the same period last year.
