Man in custody for allegedly impersonating Vodafone staff and attempted scamming

A man is in police custody for allegedly impersonating a Vodafone IT Officer and attempting to scam a supermarket.

Divisional Police Commander South Wate Vocevoce says the person was arrested at a supermarket in Valelevu yesterday while pretending to be Vodafone staff to upgrade their MPaisa Software System.

The staff alerted Valelevu Police Station where the man was then arrested.

DPC Vocevoce says the suspect is in custody at the Valelevu Police Station for interrogation as investigations continue.
