Nadawa man charged with arson and 2 counts of attempted murder

The owner of the house in Nadawa that was destroyed in a fire last Friday night has been charged with allegedly intentionally starting the fire in an attempt to harm himself and his two children.

He has been charged with one count of arson and two counts of attempted murder.

Police say the 33-year-old was at home with his two children aged 10 years and 1-year-9 months when the fire broke out.

According to Police, investigators after carefully assessing the information and evidence gathered have determined that the accused had allegedly tried to harm himself and his two children following a heated argument.

He will appear in the Nasinu Magistrates Court today.
