A man is in police custody for allegedly selling liquor from his home.

Police say the arrest was made following a raid conducted yesterday by the Eastern Division team at the suspect’s home located within a village setting, whereby several cans of assorted liquor were found and seized.

The suspect remains in custody at the Korovou Police Station as investigations continue.

The Fiji Police Force is urging members of the public to report anyone involved in the illegal sale of liquor.

Police are seeking public cooperation in the sharing of information as liquor-related incidents have led to serious harm and the loss of lives, which continues to be a concern.

They are asking community leaders to report any suspicious activities to their respective Divisional Police Command Centres through the following contacts;

Western Division: 9905457 Northern Division: 9905722 Southern Division: 9905529 Eastern Division: 9905563 Central Command - 893 2875
